Perhaps we could consider an Immigration Issues Coordinator, or joining the two. Anti-immigrantism is usually a socially acceptable pretense for thinly disguised racism, which is quite hypocritical when taken by descendents of peoples not indigenous to North America. I am new to YDS, so do not know the feasability forming an Immigration Issues Commission, or if that would be cumbersome or spreading ourselves too thin.

BTW, check out Democracy Now!’s coverage of an attempted debate between Jim Gilchrist, founder of the murderous rascist group the Minutemen, and the President of the Columbia University Chicano Caucus. They were very savvy media consolidation era demonstrators, articulate in their rebuttal of mass media’s “violation of free speech claims”, and seemingly female led. It should be on www.democracynow.org
