Directions to Conference Sites

Using the NYC Subway System

1) Obtain a Metrocard at local station at station booth or machine located just outside every station. Total cost is $1 + money for fares/swipes.   Metrocard must be Pay per Ride Metrocard because you will only be in NYC for 1-3 days. You can purchase with cash, credit or debit card.

2)  You can add credit to card through the vending machine or station booth.  A fare is $2.50. Once you pay your fare by swiping into a station you can make as many transfers as you need without having to pay again.

3)  Conductor will often say via speakers what train stop is next.  There will be two NYC maps located in each train car, plus sometimes an electronic map stating what stops are left before the end of the line. Always make sure you know if you are going downtown or uptown.
